When a building leaks, it’s likely due to improper installation of a through-wall flashing system, failed masonry, failed sealant/caulk or a combination of all these. Our thorough knowledge of building construction types helps us determine how to properly repair a building leak.
Identifying the Cause
Many times, a leaking window is due to an improper through-wall flashing installation above it. And at first glance, what may appear to be a roof leak could actually be a flashing problem with the wall. However, sometimes it’s not possible to simply glance at a building and know intuitively where the water is coming from. This is when it may be necessary to systematically recreate the leak with a water test to pin-point the entry point of the water that’s causing your leak.
